Mrs. Kari Bonnema

Kindergarten Teacher

I thoroughly enjoy teaching young children who are enthusiastic about life and learning. I love being able to share my love for the Lord and explore His creation with my students every day. My hope and prayer is that they would feel God’s love through me and want to live for Him, too.

I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education from Dordt College and my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. In the past, I have taught in Bradenton, FL (Bradenton Christian School) and in Spring Lake, MI (West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics). I am thankful to be at Muskegon Christian School, where I have taught since 2006.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband (Mr. Bonnema – the 3rd grade teacher) and our 4 children. Our children have attended MCS and WMCHS, where they are learning each day to love and serve the Lord.

My Deep Hope is to the tune of “Frere Jacques”

“My Deep Hope (x2)
for you and for me (x2)
is to grow in love for God, to grow in love for others,
and to show His love (x2).”

Favorite Verse:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your paths.
